First Sunday of Advent: Light from Bethlehem

Join us for the first week of our Star of Wonder: Advent Virtual Pilgrimage of Life. We journey along the Road of the Patriarchs, following the path of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, and visit the Kathisma Church — the “Seat of Mary,” where tradition says she rested before giving birth to Jesus.

Our theme this week is the Star, a symbol of divine guidance and light. Through Scripture (Matthew 2:1–12; Isaiah 60:6; Numbers 24:7), we reflect on how the Magi followed the star to Christ and how we, too, are called to be lights of faith in today’s world.

In Bethlehem, we meet the artisans of the Piccirillo Handicraft Center, which employs local craftspeople and partners with workshops to create and share authentic Bethlehem handicrafts worldwide. Guided by their motto, “With and for the people,” they keep faith, culture, and hope alive in the Holy Land.

Walk with us from Galilee to Bethlehem as we follow the Star and prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ.
