Mary of Magdala was weeping, her master had died, and now his body was no longer on the sepulcher. Suddenly, she saw two angels dressed in white, and they said to her: “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid him. When she said this, she turned around and saw Jesus but did not know it was Jesus. He said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.” Then, Jesus calls her by her name: “Mary!” and she recognizes him: “Rabbouni!”
When Mary heard her name, she recognized Jesus and must have felt great joy. She thought he had lost him, and now she knows Christ is alive! “We need to keep reminding ourselves of this, because we can risk seeing Jesus Christ simply as a fine model from the distant past, as a memory, as someone who saved us two thousand years ago”.1 Thats why we want to encourage an encounter with Christ, an encounter that answers to a question we all have deep in our hearts: Whom am I looking for?
This year we start a 10-year journey, from 2023 to 2033, a trip that will prepare our hearts to celebrate the beginning of the Third Millennium of the Resurrection of Christ; each year, you will have the opportunity to Encounter Jesus in the place where he lived and enjoy a music festival, moments of prayer, worship, and pilgrimage.
Encounter 2023, July from 21st to 31st, is a unique pilgrimage in the Holy Land where you will have the opportunity to visit holy places, live the joy of faith with a music festival, and renew the hope of the Resurrection at the shores of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus performed many miracles, and get to know more about Mary Magdalene, whom he chose as the one give the good news to the world.
Come and walk in the same places where the disciples walked and witnessed the greatness and simplicity of a God that became man and encountered the love of God. Discover the Holy Land, known as The Fith Gospel; enter history and contemplate the places where the Gospels took place.
