Dear Friends of Magdala,
I am currently in Mexico completing a course on Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. It is an amazing experience which I´ve been fortunate to share with other priests that have a lot of experience in preaching.
I want to share this with you as I was recently reflecting on the theme “Jesus preaching in the Galilee.” This is in fact one of the central themes that we thought about when we were designing the boat altar of Duc In Altum. The boat altar resembles Peter´s boat, the original pulpit from which Jesus preached to the crowds.
Saint Paul also tells us that faith is born from that which is heard. I´m excited to think that in Magdala we can continue preaching the Good News of Jesus and of Sacred Scripture, as a living echo of the old prophets, in the same manner as Jesus did, and as an echo of the many saints that have made living the Good News their own life.
Friends, I leave you now with our monthly newsletter and a quick aerial update of the ongoing development of our guesthouse in Magdala, now very soon to open.
As always, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and your generosity in helping bring the vision of Magdala to life for all Holy Land pilgrims to experience.
Fraternally yours,
Fr. Juan María Solana, L.C.
