Dear Friends of Magdala,
If I had to describe Magdala during these past weeks I would say it is exactly like an anthill. The place is buzzing with movement as our construction team finishes the landscaping and development of the site, visitors and pilgrims continue to arrive, and the number of on-site activities such as retreats, worship services, concerts and interreligious encounters only increase.
Each day we are busy receiving materials to finish the construction – furniture, equipment, tools and everything needed for the daily operation of the new Magdala guesthouse. In spite of the extra hours of hard work, there is a growing excitement as we await the great moment that we have focused all our time, talents and resources on for so many years.
This month as we get back on track with our newsletters we want to share with you a summary of all the activities which Magdala participated in during 2018, an intense year full of challenges and enriching opportunities. We are also looking ahead and foresee in 2019 the great task and honor of opening the Magdala guesthouse, receiving our first overnight guests, and touching the lives of even more pilgrims.
We hope that this information is to your liking and we invite you to follow us over the next months on our web or on our social media platforms as we prepare for the opening of the Magdala guesthouse. Follow us using @experiencemagdala to find us on Facebook or Instagram.
Thank you very much for your wonderful support and prayers. 2018 has been one of our best fundraising years yet and thanks to this we are able to show you so much progress on site. We hope and trust that 2019 will be even better so that together we may continue to bring this wonderful vision of Magdala to life!
With my best wishes,
Fr. Juan Maria Solana, L.C.
