Dear friends of Magdala:
During this month of May many countries celebrate Mother´s Day. Over the past few days I have had the pleasure to greet and congratulate many moms — thanking them for: giving the gift of life to their children, maintaining the unity of their families, educating their children, and building society with their feminine genius.
In Magdala we are constantly praying this month for all mothers. In the atrium of women, in the chapels, in the daily celebrations they are constantly and thankfully remembered. I also thankfully remember my mother, Amparo, not just for the gift of physical life, but also for my social, moral, cultural, and spiritual life. God has blessed womankind as the channel of life and, in good part, of values and education. Women have a challenging job; one of patience for which nature and our Creator has prepared them.
Time continues to pass and the Magdala project continues to grow and progress. I let the images speak for themselves.
As the new excavation season approaches, we are ready for the arrival of approximately 70 volunteers to begin their dig in search of secrets and treasures at Magdala. Keep a watch for updates over the next few weeks on Facebook, Twitter and in our newsletter. I am sure that we will have some exciting news come out of this wonderful project of God.
As always I ask that you please continue to share our good news among your family and friends and that you please continue to support us to keep moving this project ahead. Your generous support is so important! Magdala is everyone’s project!!
May God fill you with His abundant blessings!
Fraternally yours,
Fr. Juan María Solana, L.C.
