Dearest Magdala Family,
Since the pandemic began, we have been “together” for a few years. Through this time, we have tried to celebrate Christmas together, accompany one another, pray for each other and make our path to heaven together.
As we approach Christmas, I want to offer a reflection from the prophet Isaiah, “The Virgin will conceive and give birth to a son whom she will name Emmanuel, which means God-with-us” (Isaiah 7 14).
Our poor human minds will never be able to understand this mystery. Sometimes we delve into the mystery of Mary’s virginal conception, but even then, it does not come close to comparing the fact that God becomes a man. He wanted to share our human life, to “assume our nature,” to be like us, to speak, see, touch, breathe, feel and love with a human heart.
No one has had such a clear experience of this mystery as the Virgin Mary. For this reason, we must turn to her, seek, imitate, invoke, and try to enter her heart to embrace, even from afar, the mystery of a God who grows and develops in her womb “by the work of the Holy Spirit.”
What a great gift from God for this simple “servant of the Lord” to embrace in her bosom and caress the one that the heavens cannot contain!
The mystery of Christmas is one of love, generosity, humility, poverty, and absolute humanity.
Our poor human intelligence will never reach a mystery of so much light.
Emmanuel, “God with us,” be our joy and greatest happiness. May we correspond to you so much love with an “Us with God.” May the mystery of Grace that we contemplate on our Lenten pilgrimage on the sacraments of the Church make us live closely with this loving presence of God in our souls.
From Magdala, we would like to send you our best wishes for this joyous season. May this land that witnessed the Mystery of God Incarnate bring to your hearts the consolation you need and the joy and peace that can only come from God.
As in previous years, I pray to God that you have been able to put the Mystery of Christmas in your homes, with its figurines, moss, love, stones, and earth… but above all, with Faith, Trust, and Love in Him.
