Day 35: 7th Commandment: Stewards of God’s Providence

“He became poor so that you might become rich” (2 Corinthian 8:9)

Jesus wants us to be rich in the things that truly matter. That means being free from attachment to worldly goods. Contributing to the Common Good means living the First Covenant from Genesis: having dominion over the Earth.

We have been given a great gift, and with it comes the responsibility to ensure everyone has the greatest benefit of creation. A just society means no one will lack anything. Solidarity among us means learning the lessons Scrooge did: justice, generosity, and temperance.

May I honor the true Face of God – who only wants my good – β€œin my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.” (Scrooge)
