Day 23: 2nd Commandment: The Name of the Lord

One of the most important things is to know that “name” is the relationship.

We don’t use God’s name for personal gain – or, even worse -to lie or create deceit. Far beyond this, though, is meaning behind our respect for His Name: our love and our understanding of the Mission of the Lord Himself – which is the same Mission as the tabernacle: it is to be among us and to have that deep, intimate relationship; his majesty; his power.

The full revelation of who the Lord comes through the Name that was given in Christ Jesus (whose name means “The Lord is Salvation” ):

“In giving up His Son, the only Word – for he possesses no other- the Lord spoke everything at once in his sole Word. He has no more to say because what he spoke before to the Prophets, in parts, He has now spoken all at once by giving us the All, who is His Son. Any person questioning God or desiring some vision or revelation would be guilty not only of foolish behavior but also of offending Him by not fixing his eyes entirely upon Christ and living with the desire for some other novelty.”
