Music for Princes & Ambassadors (2006)

Giovanni Gioacchino da Passano, Genoese-born French Ambassador to Henry VIII, returned from England in 1532 with a great diplomatic hoard, including silver, gold and seven choirbooks from Westminster Abbey. This musical ambassador is here commemorated in a programme of the beautiful and elaborate sixteenth-century choral music that he would have experienced during his many travels across Europe.
